Role responsibilities
The UNO Programme aims to create a single, integrated platform for all of Transport for Wales’ public services.
This is a digital transformation programme to support customers and colleagues to plan and pay for their journeys, to include a user-friendly digital interface (new website and application) and will allow customers to plan journeys, purchase tickets, and access real-time information for multiple types of transport. This will be inclusive and include support for those who cannot use digital interfaces.
By simplifying multiple ways we travel by providing a seamless customer experience, UNO is projected to increase sustainable journeys, generate revenue, and deliver significant social and economic benefits for Wales.
User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) development and design for Transport for Wales’ (TfW) digital estate to ensure that TfW provides its key audiences with an honest, useful, human and engaging user experience and communicates with them in an impactful way.
- Gather and evaluate user requirements and illustrate on-brand design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps to deliver an honest, useful, human and engaging user experience, drive traffic and influence user behaviour.
- Design graphic/user interface elements, such as menus, tabs and widgets by aligning with brand guidelines/standards to create an honest, useful, human and engaging user experience.
- Create UX designs and user journeys that adhere to accessibility and other standards, brand guidelines and policies for TfW’s digital estate to deliver an honest, human, useful and engaging user experience and drive traffic/influence behaviour.
- Create wireframes/screen designs, mock-ups, prototypes, user journey maps, assets and detailed specifications by working to briefs, understanding and interpreting requirements to create an honest, useful, human and engaging user experience.
Who we’re looking for
- Demonstrable experience designing for web, mobile and digital channels, with an understanding of UX and UI design principles.
- Up-to-date knowledge and proficiency with industry tools such as Figma, Invision, Sketch and Adobe including XD, Illustrator and Photoshop to deliver high-quality designs.
- Experience in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Experienced in engaging with agencies, ICT providers and other third-party suppliers.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
