Overview
Head of Technology Delivery – WC2E 9DD
Salary: Starting from £70,000 per annum based on skills and experience
Hours: Full time; 40 hours per week
The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.
The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are. The whole is always more than the sum of its parts – we may be a House, but three quarters of our audiences experience what we do outside this building. While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world.
We are seeking to recruit a Head of Technology Delivery who will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of technology projects and services across the organisation. The RBO is in the implementation phase of multiple projects, and this role will ensure they are delivered effectively and with the engagement of key business stakeholders. Acting as a bridge between Technology and the rest of the organisation, you will lead a team focused on meeting business objectives through new technology initiatives that allow us to operate effectively.
Our ideal candidate will be a natural leader with excellent stakeholder and programme management skills. You will have led on multiple projects and have focused experience in application delivery. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary technology teams (project managers, architects, engineers, testers)
- A strong track record of delivering complex technology projects and services in a comparable environment
- Financial acumen and experience managing project budgets.
- A deep understanding of technology delivery methodologies and best practices
- The ability to drive change, foster innovation, and support a culture of continuous improvement
To submit your application, please provide a supporting statement that outlines how your skills and experience match the essential criteria listed above. Your supporting statement will be reviewed by the shortlisting panel, so please do take the time to consider your response and use this to highlight your suitability for, and interest in, the role.
We recommend drafting your response in a separate document and then copying the final version into the application form. Please do not upload a separate Cover Letter as this will be not reviewed – only supporting statements included as part of the application form will be considered.
Please note that as part of our commitment to anonymised shortlisting, panels do not view full CVs during the recruitment process. If you choose to upload your CV, our system will pull information from your CV into our application form for you to check and submit.
