About the role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the 18–64 Adult Mental Health Services in Cambridgeshire—including Huntingdon and Fenland—as a permanent Social Worker, working 22.5 hours per week.
In this role, you’ll benefit from a flexible working approach, with the option to work both from home and in the office, supported by knowledgeable managers and a strong peer network.
The role of a Mental Health Social Worker is incredibly varied—its breadth and depth make it difficult to sum up in a single sentence. What we can say is that no two days are ever the same, and you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference every day.
There are many benefits that are very specific to Mental Health Teams, including:
• Opportunities for development in both Cambridgeshire County Council and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, as well as access to specialist and individual training.
• Working in a multi-disciplinary team with Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists.

About you
We’re looking for a confident and dynamic individual who enjoys making a difference in their local community, is curious and spots things that others might not see, enjoys building relationships and likes to explore possibilities.
We would expect you to have some mental health experience. The individual will need to be autonomous and be confident in making decisions independently or proactive in seeking advice/guidance from colleagues/managers if need be. They will need to be confident in communicating decisions to colleagues and other professionals. The main bulk of the work consists of short-term pieces of work so would suit somebody who enjoys working with these types of cases.
You must:
- Be an experienced qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
- Can work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
