Role responsibilities

The Project Manager Bus Decarbonisation will have responsibility for the delivery of the projects and initiatives that will support the delivery of the Welsh Government Bus Decarbonisation Plan.

  • Be responsible for the management of bus decarbonisation projects, through the application of robust project lifecycle methodologies – including implementation of project plans, attainment of key milestones and resource management, to ensure these are completed safely to time, cost and quality.
  • Scans the horizon by maintaining proactive liaison with TfW existing and potential clients to identify new opportunities to ensure delivery of the Welsh Government bus decarbonisation policy.
  • Manage and be responsible for bus decarbonisation project (and others where allocated) budgets by liaising with the appropriate Finance Business Partner escalating any variances where required to ensure costs remain within the agreed budget.
  • Manage and lead project teams by collaborating with internal colleagues, external contractors, stakeholders, and supply chain to ensure projects meet delivery outcomes.
  • Identify and monitor project risks that may impact TfW, including financial, reputational, quality, environmental and health and safety by collaborating with the appropriate TfW risk professionals and managing risk register(s) to ensure TfW can implement effective mitigations.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Degree in a relevant subject, or demonstrable equivalent work experience. 
  • Possess, or working towards, a project management qualification, e.g. APM, PRINCE 2 or similar.
  • Previous experience of managing projects.
  • Experience of working with local and national government, including public sector transport stakeholders.

 

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
